Overview

Stewart is a one-street mining town of about 500 residents tucked into the Coast Mountains at the end of the Stewart-Cassiar Highway. Its main appeal lies in serving as the Canadian gateway to Hyder, Alaska, where the spectacular Salmon Glacier and guaranteed grizzly bear viewing at Fish Creek draw visitors from around the world.
