Overview
Soria is a provincial capital of 40,000 people in northern Castile and León, retaining a market-town ambience despite its administrative status. Its main draw is an exceptional collection of Romanesque churches from the 12th century, concentrated within the old town and along the riverbank.

Transport
Two trains daily from Madrid Chamartín (3 hours). Alsa buses every couple of hours from Madrid Av. América (2hr 30min). Bus station under renovation in 2024.
Weather
Highland Castilian climate: cold winters, mild springs and autumns. Summer days can be warm but nights cool. Always bring a layer.
