Overview
Silifke is a modest Turkish city in the Cilician Mountains, 15 km inland from the Mediterranean coast, serving primarily as a transit hub and touring base. Its main draws are the Göksu Delta bird reserve and ancient ruins scattered throughout the area, including the hilltop Silifke Castle and the Roman Temple of Jupiter.

Transport
Dolmuşes (shared minibuses) run to Mersin, Adana, and the 15 km hop to Taşucu. The inter-city bus station is centrally located at D715 and D400 junction.

Summers are very hot (35°C+). Best visiting seasons are spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October).
