Overview
Shizuishan serves as the gateway to some of Ningxia's most distinctive landscapes: the unique desert-lake formation at Shahu Lake, ancient Helan Mountain rock paintings, and the emerging Helan Mountains wine region. The city itself is an industrial mining hub, but its surroundings offer wetland bird habitats, canyon hiking, and Hui ethnic cultural crafts.
