Overview

Shawinigan is a city of 50,000 people in Quebec's Mauricie region that developed around its tremendous hydroelectric power capacity. Today the city pivots toward tourism, offering visitors a mix of industrial heritage attractions, including La Cité de l'Énergie theme park and the Museum of Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, along with access to Mauricie National Park.
