Sevlievo is a modest town of about 19,000 residents in central Bulgaria's Balkan Mountains foothills. It serves as a practical stopover between larger destinations like Gabrovo (25 km northwest) and Lovech (35 km southeast), or when traveling west from Veliko Tarnovo (40 km away).
