Overview
Seinäjoki is the regional capital of Southern Ostrobothnia in western Finland, serving as a major railway junction where five lines converge. The city is famous for its architectural heritage designed by Alvar Aalto, whose modernist buildings form a cohesive city center completed mainly between 1960 and 1987.

Summers (June-August) are mild with 15-25°C temperatures. Winters are cold (November-March) with -5 to -15°C and significant snowfall. Aalto's architecture looks striking in both seasons.
