History
Schweinfurt produced most of Nazi Germany's ball bearings and was heavily bombed; remnants of medieval city wall survive with three towers on the eastern ramparts.

Transport
Schweinfurt has no intercity train station; travelers from Berlin, Frankfurt, or Munich must transfer in Würzburg or Bamberg for the 20-40 minute regional train ride.
