Overview
Schierke is a purpose-built spa town wedged into the upper Bode Valley at 600 metres altitude, surrounded on all sides by the dense forests of the Harz National Park. It has a long tradition of welcoming walkers and wellness seekers, with dozens of hotels and restaurants packed into a village that is small enough to walk across in minutes.
