Overview
Sauvo is a small rural municipality of about 3,000 permanent residents in Finland Proper, situated by the innermost part of the Archipelago Sea. The area is characterized by summer cottages that significantly increase the population during summer months.

Summer cottage stays are popular in the area. Camping available at Sarapisto (June–August). Farm stays at Hännilän Tila offer unique rural accommodation.

Basic groceries available at K-Market and S-Market. Local produce at summer kiosks and organic farms. Pizza at Bar Mansikka costs €10–13.
Language
Sauvo is officially bilingual Finnish and Swedish. English is commonly understood in shops and tourist services.
Money
Finland uses the Euro (€). Cards are widely accepted at all establishments including grocery stores and restaurants. Cash can be withdrawn from ATMs at K-Market Sauvo.
Transport
Sauvo is accessed primarily by car. No train station exists in the municipality. Taxis are available (Taksi Timo Kaskinen). The area is ideal for cycling with bicycle service available at Bikestation.
