Prices in USD. Most restaurants and hotels accept major credit cards. ATMs are plentiful on Broadway. During racing season, prices surge significantly.

Generally safe city; Caroline Street bars can get rowdy late weekends. Use normal urban precautions.
Transport
Amtrak serves Saratoga Springs station; taxi/ridehailing to downtown Broadway runs about $12. Downtown is walkable, but you'll need a car or transit for attractions outside the center.

Summers are warm (70s-80s°F) with peak tourism during racing season. Winters are cold with snow; February hosts the Flurry Festival folk dance event.
