Accommodation
Expect to pay an additional Kurtaxe of €2-3 per person per night on top of accommodation rates. Beach access is included for those staying in town.
Money
Germany uses the Euro (EUR). ATMs are available in town. Most businesses accept cards, though cash is useful for smaller establishments.
Safety
Mudflat walking is dangerous—never go alone, check tides on st-peter-ording.de/gezeiten/, and return before water flows back. Kitebuggies and wind sports can be fast and difficult for beginners.
Transport
Regional trains serve Bad St. Peter Süd and Bad St. Peter-Ording stations. Bikes are ideal for exploring the flat peninsula. The Kurtaxe includes local bus transport.
Weather
Constant wind makes it ideal for wind sports. Summers are mild with long daylight hours. Winters are quiet but can be cold and windy.
