Overview
San Pablo is a historic lakeside city of about 300,000 people in Laguna province, famous for its seven volcanic crater lakes. The city retains a surprising number of heritage buildings from the American period, particularly along Jose Rizal Avenue and the Capitol Compound, making it one of the most architecturally preserved medium-sized cities in the Philippines.

Famous for buko pie, espasol, kesong puti, and tamarind sweets. Best found at the public market.
Safety
Beware of petty crime. Some areas flood during rainy season. Not all seven lakes are safe for swimming.
Transport
Tricycles and jeepneys are the main local transport. STAR Tollway connects to Manila via Santo Tomas exit.
Water
Twin Lakes (Yambo and Pandin) have the cleanest waters for recreation. Other lakes may be murky or used for fishing.
