Overview
Saltvik is the largest municipality by land area in Åland, offering visitors a window into the archipelago's Viking-era trading past at Kvarnbo village and spectacular hilltop scenery at Orrdalsklint, the highest point in all of Åland at 129 meters above sea level. With 91% of its 1,800 residents speaking Swedish as their mother tongue, it represents one of the most Swedish-speaking places on Earth.
