Overview
Sale is the commercial centre of central Gippsland, gazetted in 1851 with growth driven by the gold rush boom in Omeo and a growing shipping industry. The city features the historic Sale Swing Bridge built in 1883 as the first movable bridge in Victoria, the Sale Botanic Gardens, and Lake Guthridge with its fountain.
