Overview
Rocky Mountain National Park encompasses over 415 square miles of alpine wilderness in Colorado's Front Range, with over a third of the park sitting above timberline. The park is dominated by Longs Peak, one of Colorado's 54 Fourteeners at 14,259 feet, dubbed the Monarch of the Front Range.

Free WiFi is available at Beaver Meadows Visitor Center. Cellular service is limited throughout the park.
Health
Altitude sickness is the primary concern—acclimatize before strenuous activity. Always purify stream water. Carry sunscreen and drink plenty of fluids.
Money
Park entrance fees range from $15 (foot/bike) to $35 (7-day automobile pass). Campgrounds cost $20-30 per night. All major credit cards accepted at visitor centers and campground reservations.
Transport
A seasonal shuttle bus system serves Bear Lake Road trailheads. Trail Ridge Road is the main through route. No public transportation exists within the park.
Weather
Mountain temperatures run 10-15°F cooler than visitor centers. Summer afternoons bring frequent thunderstorms. Winters bring heavy snowfall with limited access.
