Overview
Rhenen is a compact city of 20,000 people in Utrecht province, best known for Ouwehands Dierenpark—one of the Netherlands' most popular zoos—and the solemn Grebbeberg military war cemetery. The city offers a quieter, more manageable alternative to larger Dutch cities while still delivering major attractions, including Europe's largest barnacle aquarium and two giant pandas on loan from China since 2017.
