Ravangla is a relatively new tourist spot in South Sikkim, positioned as a quieter alternative to the busier Sikkim destinations. At 8,000 ft elevation, this small picturesque town on the highway between Gangtok and Gyalshing offers one of the few places in Sikkim with undisturbed views of the Greater Himalayas including Mt.

Accommodation

Food
Limited dining options; most hotels close kitchens by 8PM. Momos and thukpa are widely available for ₹100-200 per meal.
Transport
Taxis are the main transport option; book by afternoon if arriving in the evening. Shared jeeps run between Ravangla, Gangtok (2 hr 15 min), and Pelling (52 km).
Trekking
Menam and Tendong treks require forest entry registration (₹25/day) and a guide (₹1000-1500 for group). The area is wildlife habitat including red pandas.
Weather
Weather is highly volatile at 8,000 ft elevation. Always carry rain gear and layers. April-May offers flower blossoms but also more visitors.
