Overview
Randazzo is a medieval town built of black lava stone from Mount Etna eruptions, earning it the nickname 'the grey town.' Its eight towers, three medieval gates, and Catalan-Gothic churches make it one of Sicily's best-preserved hill towns. As the closest settlement to Mount Etna's summit, it serves as an ideal base for hikers and nature enthusiasts seeking access to three regional parks: Parco dell'Etna, Parco fluviale dell'Alcantara, and Parco dei Nebrodi.
