Before you go
Accommodation
No budget options exist in Putrajaya. Luxury hotels offer exceptional value with rooms from US$25-100. Cyberjaya or Bangi provide nearby alternatives.
Dress code
Dress codes apply at Perdana Putra, Seri Perdana, and Putra Mosque: no T-shirts, shorts, singlets, sandals, or indecent wear. The mosque lends shocking pink robes for free.
Nightlife
Nightlife is essentially non-existent aside from a few comatose hotel bars. Putrajaya is a daytime destination only.
Safety
Putrajaya is a safe, planned city with low crime. The main risks are heat-related for outdoor sightseeing and standard urban precautions.
Transport
Putrajaya is not walkable; buses are infrequent. Grab ridesharing is the most reliable option. The unfinished monorail leaves visible abandoned tracks near Putrajaya Sentral.
