Overview
Port Erin is a small coastal village on the Isle of Man's southwest tip with a population of 3,730 (2021). Formerly a Victorian holiday resort from the 19th century until the 1960s, it retains a quiet, unpretentious character that contrasts with busier island destinations.

Connectivity
4G coverage from Sure and Manx is available throughout Port Erin. 5G had not launched on the Isle of Man as of April 2023.
Money
Prices in local businesses are quoted in British Pounds (GBP). Card payments are widely accepted at supermarkets and hotels; smaller establishments may be cash-only.
Transport
The railway station serves as both the Steam Railway terminus and main bus terminus. Four trains daily connect Port Erin with Douglas (70 min) from mid-March to October. Buses 1/2/11 provide 20-minute service frequency to Douglas.
Weather
Summer (June-August) offers the best beach and hiking weather. The Steam Railway operates March-October. Winter sees reduced services and a quieter atmosphere.
