Overview
Plymouth is 'America's Hometown,' famous as the 1620 landing site of the Mayflower Pilgrims after storms diverted them from the Hudson River. The settlement they established, Plimoth Colony, was one of the earliest successful European settlements in North America.

Money
Plymouth uses US Dollars. Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are available at banks in downtown and village centers.
Safety
Dial 911 for emergencies. Be aware of tidal changes at beaches (no lifeguards at most). Great white sharks have been spotted near Plymouth beaches—avoid murky water and areas with seals.
Transport
Downtown Plymouth is very walkable with the Pilgrim Path walking tour. GATRA buses serve the area daily. America's Hometown Trolley runs only during summer. A car is recommended for visiting villages and beaches.

Peak season is summer (Memorial Day-Labor Day). Spring offers mild temps and flowers; fall has New England foliage. Thanksgiving draws crowds for local parade and football.
