Overview
Pelkosenniemi is a small municipality in central Finnish Lapland where most visitors are passing through to reach Pyhä-Luosto National Park and the Pyhä holiday resort. The main draw is Lampivaara amethyst mine, the only open amethyst mine in Europe, where visitors can dig and keep their own stones.
