Overview
Partizánske is an industrial city of 22,000 people founded in 1938 to house workers in the Bata shoe factory. It was formerly called Baťovany and is one of the famous serial cities built by Jan Antonín Baťa across former Czechoslovakia, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and more than a dozen other countries.

The thermal lido is open in summer months with four pools and recreational facilities. Winter sports available at Horná Ves skiing area.
Culture
Partizánske was a Bata company town, one of many serial cities built by Jan Antonín Baťa. The city was renamed to commemorate the Slovak Uprising.

Transport
Partizánske has a train station on Gen. Svobodu street and a bus station on Nitrianska cesta. Local transport connects the city center with surrounding areas.
