Overview
Pantalica is one of the largest prehistoric necropolises in the Mediterranean, with over 3,000 tombs carved into the limestone cliffs of a deep river valley. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site alongside Syracuse, it offers a unique window into Greek, Byzantine, and earlier cultures spanning the 13th to 7th centuries BCE.
