Overview
Paimio is a small Finnish town best known for its Alvar Aalto-designed tuberculosis sanatorium (Paimion parantola), a Functionalist architecture masterpiece where the building itself was considered part of the healing process. The town sits on the Paimionjoki river valley, a Natura 2000 protected cultural landscape 24 km east of Turku.

Accommodation
Limited accommodation—primarily one guesthouse (Kuninkaantien kestikartano from €30) and rural B&Bs. Most visitors stay in Turku and day-trip.

Excellent 4G coverage via DNA, Telia, Elisa. WiFi at cafés and sanatorium visitor centre. Type F plugs (220V).
Food
Lunch-focused dining: fuel stations, Lounaskahvila Ansku (€7-9), and a few cafés. Evening options are very limited to one pub.
Money
Finland uses the euro (€). Credit and debit cards are universally accepted. No need for cash in most situations.
Transport
Paimio is best reached by car or bus from Turku (24 km, ~30-40 min). The railway station has no passenger service. Local buses use Föli tickets.
