Overview
Paestum (Archaeological Park of Paestum) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998 containing the best-preserved ancient Greek Doric temples in the world. Founded around the seventh century BC as part of Magna Graecia (Greek colonization of Southern Italy), Paestum offers an extraordinary glimpse into ancient Greek architecture and urbanism that rivals sites in Greece itself.
