Overview
Osterwieck is a historic medieval town in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, celebrated for its exceptional collection of half-timbered houses (Fachwerkhäuser). Half of the 376 listed timber-framed buildings were constructed before 1720, with more than a third dating from the period before the end of the Thirty Years' War.
