Overview
Ordos City is a striking Inner Mongolia prefecture that defies expectations. The new city of Kangbashi, built in 2010, was dubbed a "Ghost City" by international media for its near-empty streets—but by 2024, 100,000 residents populate its monumental civic architecture along a 3km ceremonial mall.
