Overview
Nyon is a small historic town on the western shore of Lake Geneva, founded by Romans in the 1st century BC as Noviodunum. The town offers Roman ruins, a medieval castle with panoramic lake views, and access to two major festivals—Paléo (Europe's largest music festival in July) and Visions du Réel (international film festival in April).

Three museums (castle, Roman museum, Lake museum) offer a common ticket: Fr. 8 adults, Fr. 6 seniors/students/groups. Free for children under 16. Free admission on 1st Sunday of month.
Transport
Nyon has a train station with regular connections to Lausanne (30 min) and Geneva (20 min). Local buses serve surrounding villages. The town is walkable.
