Altitude
Nyingchi sits at approximately 3,000m altitude. Acclimatization is essential - spend 1-2 days adjusting before strenuous activity. Symptoms of altitude sickness include dizziness, shortness of breath, and fatigue.
Food
Local specialties include stone pot-cooked chicken in Lulang, matsutake mushrooms (¥300-500), Tibetan saffron (¥50-200), roasted pork (¥80-120), and ghee tea (¥5-15).

Transport
Most attractions are dispersed and difficult to reach without a chartered vehicle. Shuttle buses serve some sites but private transport is most convenient for independent travel.

The region experiences variable weather with cool and rainy conditions even in summer. Sudden weather changes occur especially at higher altitudes. Always carry warm layers, rain gear, and sturdy footwear.
