Overview
North Uist is a remote Scottish island offering stark, haunting landscapes of boggy terrain, countless small lochs (lochans), and pristine white beaches backed by sandhills. The island has a population of just 1619, with two-thirds speaking Gaelic, preserving a slower, traditional crofting way of life.
