Overview
Nizip is a mid-sized agricultural city of 150,000 people in Southeastern Anatolia, best known as the gateway to Zeugma—one of the most significant Roman archaeological sites in Turkey, famous for its brilliant mosaics. The city itself is a quiet pistachio-farming hub with a handful of Ottoman-era mosques and a charming pistachio statue marking the city centre.
