Overview

Nipigon is a small, isolated township of 1,500 people on the north shore of Lake Superior, serving as a rest stop along the Trans-Canada Highway between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste Marie. The village is a departure point for fishing excursions onto Lake Superior, the Nipigon River system, and Lake Nipigon, with species including Atlantic salmon, lake trout, speckled trout, rainbow trout, walleye, northern pike, bass, and perch.
