The New Administrative Capital (العاصمة الجديدة, al-ʿĀṣima al-Jadīda) is Egypt's ambitious new capital city under construction since 2015, located 45 km east of Cairo in Lower Egypt. The city is planned to house 6.5 million people by 2050.
