Language
Finnish is the official language. English is widely understood, especially in tourism. Swedish names exist (Nådendal) but town is now unilingually Finnish.

Transport
Buses from Turku (Föli system) run regularly; local N-prefixed lines serve archipelago villages. No train service. Bicycles useful for exploring.
Weather
Summers (June–August) are mild with long daylight hours. Many attractions closed outside this season. Winter is dark with limited daylight.
