Significant areas without mobile phone coverage. No WiFi. Come prepared for digital isolation.

No fees for hiking or camping. Fishing permits from €10-50 depending on type. Major expenses are transport to/from the area and equipment.

Safety
Tell someone your plans before entering. Many areas have no mobile coverage. Emergency: 112. Self-reliance essential.
Transport
No public transport within the area. Access via coaches from Ivalo/Inari to Karigasniemi (transfer at Kaamanen) or taxi/minibus from Inari to Angeli (weekly). Taxi Inari–Tirro ~€30–50.
Weather
Snow arrives October–November. Mosquito season June–September. Summer temps 15–20°C but can drop lower with wind and rain.
