Overview
Moosonee is a remote town of 1,500 people in Northern Ontario, serving as the 'Gateway to the Arctic' for goods transferred from trains to aircraft and barges heading to more northerly communities. Unlike larger northern cities, it offers an authentic isolated northern experience with Cree cultural heritage, bird sanctuary excursions, and access to James Bay coastal communities reachable only by boat in summer or ice road in winter.
