Overview
Montevarchi is an ancient market town on the River Arno in Tuscany's Arezzo province, long a crossroads for regional trade in silk, wool, textiles, and ceramics. The oval-shaped medieval centro storico survives largely intact from the Middle Ages, with Via Roma as its main axis.
