Mathiveri is a tiny inhabited island in North Ari atoll with only about 900 residents, offering a glimpse of local Maldivian life away from resort islands. Slow ferries from Malé depart Su/Tu/Th at 09:00, take 5 hours, cost 53 MVR. Fast boats available for around US$50.
