Overview
Marsala is western Sicily's principal wine town, offering historic baglio wineries where you can sample the DOC Marsala wine that made the town famous since the late 18th century. The town sits atop ancient Carthaginian ruins of Lilybaeum and served as Giuseppe Garibaldi's landing point in 1860, marking the start of Italian unification.
