Overview

Manresa is a historic Catalan city of 77,558 inhabitants positioned in the geographical centre of Catalonia, 57 km from Barcelona. The city is a significant Catholic pilgrimage site because Saint Ignatius of Loyola stayed here from March 1522 to February 1523, praying in a cave and formulating his Spiritual Exercises.
