Connectivity
Cell phone coverage is limited in the park. WiFi is not available in the backcountry. The visitor center may have limited connectivity.
Food
Only the Mammoth Cave Hotel restaurant serves food within the park. Cave City (6 miles away) has multiple fast-food chains. Glasgow and Bowling Green offer more dining options 25-40 miles away.
Money
No entrance fee is charged for the park. Cave tour tickets range from $10-12 per person. Cash and cards are accepted at the visitor center and lodge.
Safety
Ticks are a significant concern in warm months. Use permethrin-treated clothing or DEET repellent when hiking in the backcountry. Cave tours are ranger-led for safety.
Transport
No public transportation serves the park. Visitors need personal vehicles to access the park (via KY 255 near Park City or KY 70 near Cave City) and to get around once there.
Weather
The cave interior maintains a constant 54°F (12°C) year-round. Above-ground summers reach 88-91°F with high humidity. Spring is the rainiest season with about 46 inches annual precipitation.
