Overview

Malolos is the capital of Bulacan province and holds a unique place in Philippine history as the site where Asia's first constitutional republic was established in 1899. The city retains a remarkable collection of colonial-era houses in the Pariancillo District (also called Camestisuhan), declared a Heritage Town in 2001, making it one of the few places in the Philippines where Spanish colonial architecture survived the destruction of World War II.
