Overview
Maldon is a compact historic town at the eastern end of the River Blackwater Estuary, best known for its famous sea salt produced since 1882. The town offers a charming High Street, historic Thames barges at Hythe Quay, and hosts the annual Maldon Mud Race each spring.

Safety
Generally very safe. Avoid northwest Heybridge at night. Some streetlights off 01:00-05:00 except on High Street.
Transport
Maldon is walkable. For longer distances, local buses connect to surrounding villages. Car parking available at Tesco and in town center car parks.
