Overview
Mahale Mountains National Park is one of Tanzania's most remote and pristine wilderness areas, accessible only by boat across Lake Tanganyika. It is one of only two protected areas for chimpanzees in the country, offering a rare opportunity to trek and observe habituated chimp families in their natural rainforest habitat.
