Overview

Madeira, the 'Garden Island' or 'Pearl of the Atlantic', offers year-round spring temperatures of 20-27°C on a sub-tropical archipelago 500 km from Africa and 1,000 km from Europe. The island combines mountain hiking along historic levadas—stone-lined watercourses built between 1461 and 1966—with beach access, wine tasting, and growing digital nomad infrastructure, all within a 1½-hour flight of mainland Portugal.
