Overview
Maassluis is a preserved Dutch port town in South Holland whose city centre has barely changed in over a century. Founded around 1340 at a lock on the Meuse River (Maas-sluis means lock on the Meuse), the town retains its maritime character through historic canals, the Groote Kerk church, and the Nationaal Sleepvaartmuseum showcasing its towing heritage.
