Overview
Lumparland is one of the smallest municipalities in the Nordic countries, with just 360 permanent residents across 37 square kilometers. Despite its tiny scale, the municipality serves as a significant transport hub for Åland, with Långnäs harbor ranking as the archipelago's second most important port after Mariehamn.

Accommodation
Svinö stugby is the only named accommodation in Lumparland—cabin rentals with an on-site café. All other lodging requires travel to neighboring municipalities or Mariehamn.
Food
The only café is at Svinö cabin village. The K-Matboden grocery store in Klemetsby (open M-F 9:30-18:00, Sa 9:30-14:00) is the primary food source for self-caterers. Otherwise, dine in Mariehamn or Lemland.
Geology
The bay of Lumparn sits inside a meteor crater estimated at 530-1570 million years old. The crater is completely filled with seabed sediments. Ordovician limestone allows fossil hunting—a rarity in the Nordic countries.
Transport
Långnäs harbor is Åland's second most important port and the main cargo terminal. Ferries connect to neighboring islands including Lemland, Föglö, Sottunga, and Kumlinge. Local bus service stops at Klemetsby.
