Connectivity
Mobile coverage is limited in the mountains. Slovak carriers (Orange, O2, Telekom) have best coverage in villages and along main valleys.
Money
Mountain caves and many huts accept only cash (EUR). ATMs available in surrounding villages like Liptovský Mikuláš and Banská Bystrica.
Safety
Several fatal accidents occur annually. Main risks: heart problems, cliff falls, ski accidents. Carry emergency contact info and hike within your ability.
Transport
Main access from north via Liptovský Mikuláš (train/bus hub) or south via Banská Bystrica. Local buses connect park villages. Jasná cable car provides peak access.
Weather
Extremely exposed terrain. Summer thunderstorms develop rapidly—descend immediately if threatened. Winter winds frequently close lifts. Check forecasts before any high-altitude activity.
